“Alias Micky Dolenz” (prod. #4726) first aired @ 7:30 p.m. EST on NBC as the 25th episode of The Monkees.

The episode, sponsored by Glimmerick and Slicker by Yardley Of London™, showcased “Mary, Mary”, written & produced by Michael Nesmith, and “The Kind Of Girl I Could Love”, written by Michael Nesmith & Roger Atkins and produced by Michael Nesmith, as its featured songs. MARCH 8, 1967 (Micky Dolenz's 22nd birthday!!)

“A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You” b/w ”The Girl I Knew Somewhere” was released as The Monkees' 3rd single (Colgems #1004). This single marked a major turning point for The Monkees, as Side 1 of the single, Neil Diamond's “A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You”, was the last Monkees release by Don Kirshner, who, after releasing the "A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You"/"She Hangs Out" (#66-1003, withdrawn!) single against a 50% Monkee-control rule, was bounced from The Monkees' project. Side 2, Michael Nesmith's "The Girl I Knew Somewhere," was the first release to boast The Monkees singing and playing every note, presaging the release of their third album, The Monkees' Headquarters, a good 2 months.
