JANUARY 8, 1968 "Fairytale" (prod. #4748) was first aired @ 7:30 p.m. EST on NBC as the 48th episode of The Monkees. This episode was sponsored by Yardley Of London™, and the song on hand was “Daily Nightly” written by Michael Nesmith. JANUARY 8, 1972 "The Wild Monkees", Episode No. 42 of The Monkees (prod. #4765, aired on NBC November 13, 1967), was repeated at noon EST on CBS, with a new song added: "Looking For The Good Times," written by Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart. JANUARY 9, 1967 “The Case Of The Missing Monkee” (prod. #4731) was first aired @ 7:30 p.m. EST on NBC as the 17th episode of The Monkees. This episode was sponsored by Slicker and Black Label by Yardley Of London™, and the song heard was “I’m Not Your Stepping Stone” written & produced by Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart. JANUARY 9, 1971 “The Monkees In A Ghost Town”, Episode No. 7 of The Monkees (prod. #4704, aired on NBC October 24, 1966 and July 17, 1967), was repeated at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS. JANUARY 10, 1967 The Monkees’ second album, More Of The Monkees (Colgems #COM/COS-102), was released on LP and 8-track. It featured both sides of the Colgems #66-1002 single, issued on November 12, 1966 ("I'm A Believer", b/w "[I'm Not Your] Steppin' Stone"), as well as some TV-soundtrack tunes ("She," "Mary, Mary," "Laugh") and non-TV soundtrack tunes ("When Love Comes Knockin' [At Your Door]," "Hold On Girl," "The Day We Fall In Love"). More Of The Monkees is notable for retaining the first Monkees track to carry a lead vocal from Peter Tork: Keller and Hilderbrand's "Your Auntie Grizelda." Tracks for More Of The Monkees were cut in New York City at RCA Victor Studios, Hollywood; Western Recorders Studios, Hollywood; Western Recorders Studios #1, Hollywood; RCA Victor Studio A, Hollywood; RCA Victor Studio B, Hollywood; American Studios, Studio City between July 25 and November 23, 1966. So many tracks were produced from these sessions that several were held in the can until the releases of Instant Replay and The Monkees Present Micky, David, Michael in 1969! This was the second and final album The Monkees issued under the watchful eye of Don Kirshner, who, after releasing the "A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You"/"She Hangs Out" (#66-1003, withdrawn!) single against a 50% Monkee-control rule, was bounced from The Monkees' project. JANUARY 10, 1970 “Monkee Versus Machine”, Episode No. 3 of The Monkees (prod. #4700, aired on NBC September 26, 1966 and May 22, 1967), was repeated at noon EST on CBS, with a new song added: "Listen To The Band," written by Michael Nesmith.
