Interesting. I have seen those Beatles bootlegs on the Yellow Dog Label. I didn't know there were Monkees bootlegs, too. Most of that stuff has been released by now. But those remixes? I didn't know there were so many remixes. I wonder if those are from the original master tapes or what?
I have these, as a matter of fact, I uploaded the images of the cover art on bootlegzone They are not from the master tapes, they are remixes from the stuff that is out there. That being said, there are some interesting mixes on these-you can hear a lot of instrumentation that is buried on the released versions. I think they are an interesting listen.
No, they sound different than the Listen To The Band box. These are from various sources, and have been futzed with to bring out various aspects that were buried in the original mix.I think Andrew once commented that these were probably done on someone's computer. Some of the mixes on these really sound strange- like the Laugh remix brings out some weird wailing that was buried in the Colgems original mix.
Yeah, I used to have Go Ape, but I hated it. Nearly all the songs were such poor quality and most of them were on "Missing Links, Volume Three." And the other stuff has since been available in much better versions.
