I'm old enough to have been sitting in front of the TV for the first episode! So that would be my first memory of the Monkees. I have tons of other memories of my first 45 ("It's Nice to Be With You"/"D.W. Washburn") and my first LP ("Present").

Did you purchase those yourself or were they gifts?

'76...walking home from school 2nd grade, Monkees were on afterschool reruns. Fell in love with Davy and his accent. My brother found a used copy of the first album at a yardsale...Gonna Buy Me A Dog was my first favorite..still cracks me up!! I felt superior to all of my friends that got on the reunion bandwagon in '86...I have loved them for 10 years at that point. Saw the reunion concert in '86 and twice in '87. Coincidence that when I grew up I move to Clarksville, TN? haha.
