Andrew, can you shed some light on which tapes were used for the new deluxe editions (all four albums, mono & stereo) compared to previous releases? I remember reading a list that you posted years ago (about the tapes used for the 95 discs), and I'm curious as to what has changed since then, where you found the tapes, how you figured out which tapes were the true masters, and so forth. I do see your post about the Headquarters stereo master, but I was wondering about the rest. Also, if you could shed some light on the rest of the albums, what exists now compared to '95, that would be swell as well. Thanks - J

I presume these are first generation stereo and mono as Goldmine reported that first gen tapes were located by Rhino and that same issue listed the sources for the 90's CDs.
Only HQ was a first gen, everything else were mostly forgien or saftey copies.
The 90's CDs are original tapes, but not all were first generation. Some were second or first gen from another country (like the first Album, which used a german stereo tape etc.).
I should re-read that issue, sometime in 96 when they were done, another batch were located and were first gen.
I heard they used first gen tapes for PAC & J vinyl from sundazed and for the Anthogloy.
