The original CD issue of Instant Replay didn't use the original US album cover. It used the cover from another country. The cover used on the CD looks better than the US cover in my opinion, but I would still like the original US cover. What do others think? The original US album cover is pictured below on the right, while the existing CD cover is pictured below on the left.

I have, probably ,the ULTIMATE suggestion:why not issue (in the booklet)BOTH COVERS BACK TO BACK? just like Westside did for the "Shine On Brightly" CD they did for Procol Harum in 1999? that will satisfy both sides of the debate! (U.S. version on one side-preferably on front as well as on cover of package-and the International version on the flip).Michael Boyce
I like both covers. However, the original is still the original and should take precedence. I like the "back to back" idea. That would be cool. They should do that with "Present," too. Back to back color and black & white versions of the cover.
I like that idea for both "Instant Replay"as well as for the "Present" Covers...The Best Of Both Monkeeworlds! Heck,I LOVE IT! BRILLIANT!! Michael Boyce
It is my understanding there WILL NOT be another "Instant Replay" re-issue...due to poor sales of the Deluxe Editions. If I am misinformed, LET ME KNOW! I'd love it to happen...

I can't say the source, but the individual is employeed by WMG...I hope that person is wrong, because I WANT MORE MONKEES PRODUCT! For cryin' out loud, half of their catalog is unavailable right now...and with all the stuff obviously in the vault (listen to Andrews EXCELLENT interview series with Mike & hear it for yourself), I'm always the first in line to buy this stuff!

I hope your source is wrong but I also don't really believe that Rhino would pull the plug on the original ideal to re-release all 8 Monkee CDs as deluxe editions.
I wish Andrew would come out and say what the release plans are. I'm not really sure why there is such secresy regarding Monkee releases. I can't imagine any reason why future releases can't be announced and discussed, especially here.
Oh well,
Lets just keep our fingers crossed.
... maybe the rest of the releases will be released but only on handmade, with a limited release.... which is fine by me. I'll snatch 'em up as soon as they come out...
To make it different and switch it up a bit I guess.
I liked the Present one as that was what the album was originally intended to look like, as it was to be double and in colour.
I hope Rhino gets around to doing ALL the Monkees albums, Neffie said 8 a few posts back. But what? No "Changes" ?!? Not to meantion there might be some outtakes found for that album, or heck I'd like to see "Pool It" w/ bonus tracks, "Kicks" & Anytime, Anywhere, Anyplace added as those two havn't been reissued.
Heck also JUSTUS, remixed or something as I don't think the original mix that Nez did sounded good or did them justice, pardon the pun. Also w/ bonus tracks (if any).
Yeah, they need to do all of the albums. "Changes" has a few tracks that haven't been released yet like "Heavy Makes You Happy," "Ride Baby Ride," and "Which Way Do You Want It." Other tracks have also been referred to that were recorded during these sessions. Also, Nez was originally going to be on the album, but backed out at the last minute, since his contract was almost over. Imagine the album with a few tracks from him.
"Then & Now...The Best Of The Monkees" probably had some unreleased stuff from the sessions that yielded "That Was Then, This Is Now." Since Rhino owns the rights, they could issue a 2-disc "Pool It" and include all tracks left over from "Then & Now" and "Pool It" sessions.
"Justus" needs to be reissued with all of the songs from the "Hey Hey It's The Monkees" TV special and the song "Manchester Boy," which was recorded during the "Justus" sessions, but not released.
There's also the single mix of Every Step Of The Way which could be added to a Pool It! reissue.
I thought it would also be cool if Rhino could licence some of Peter's solo versions and have his alt. versions of Gettin In & Since You Went Away and throw those in as well.
Was Nez suppose to be a part of Changes? That's news to me, from what I understand he bought out his contract after Present and already working on the FNB stuff all before his contract expired in Winter of 1970, long before Changes was recorded?
I do know that the picture used for the cover art of "Changes" has Nesmith cropped out of the picture. The same goes for the back cover photos. Nez is in all of those pictures, but he's cropped out. I always felt that they just cut him out of that album. He was also still doing the Kool-Aid commercials around that time, too. Some of those are from 1970.
