Yes. I remember that. I waited for that to happen, but PBS got involved and that pretty much doomed their release at the time. Hopefully, that stuff will come out soon. I'm also looking for the Michael Nesmith CD "The Magic Ball" which is the third part of his trilogy which included "The Prison" and "The Garden." Great stuff.

Oh yeah, I think Total Control made meantion of that, Nez had a lot of ideas too including making a resort based on his songs.

According to the FAQ @ videoranch.com, @ the rate Nez is going, it'll be 2012 when we see the Magic Ball.

I heard that 2012 date a few years ago and it seemed like a long time to have to wait. But by now, it's just around the corner. I can't wait.

Oh yeah. The book "American Gene" will be good if it's half as good as "The Long Sandy Hair Of Neftoon Zamora." I love that book. I was really good.

The Movie "Fried Pies" sounds like an awesome idea for a movie. I hope it will get made. It would be cool. I'd go to a theater to see it.

The 1997 Billboard concert Rhino owns. However, a few of the UK dates with all 4 guys were professionally recorded...paid for by Mr. Davy Jones. He owns that footage-but since he's paranoid about being "ripped off", we'll never see it.

And when Davy does that, he's ripping us off: the fans. The fans want a Monkees quartet concert on DVD. Especially those of us who would have went to England to see all four of them if we had known they wouldn't be a quartet when they got to the USA. He needs to release it.

Oops, I think there was a confusion here.

I meant that Nez owns the 97 TV special (rights) not the Billboard concert, which was actually 96.

some of the 97 U.K. dates have circulated in collector's circles.

I have a video of a live Monkees concert in Birmingham, England in 1997. The sound is okay, but the visuals stink! It makes me long for an officially released version. I mean, I can see them and hear them on the video, but a professionally filmed one would be so much better.

Attention: Davy Jones! We need an official DVD of the Monkees Live 1997!

(^Well, it's worth a shot...right?)

Yeah. We don't want Davy to be that way. Davy's supposed to be the Monkees fan in the group. Hmm. That's an interesting statement.

Lets keep our fingers crossed that Rhino (or whoever?) will officially release ALL of the recorded LIKE UK 1997 Justus concerts with all 4 guys as well as the 1997 ABC TV special too!
I was VERY fortunate to attend 3 of the UK Justus concerts-Manchester-Sheffield & Bournemouth!
I also worked security in July 1989 in LA for them & had Chip Douglas's secretary,Juli Galioto videotape footage of the Walk of fame ceremony for me.There's also a photo of me wearing a Monkees Headquarters tshirt in the Monkees "Music Box" box set of the ceremony in the background too.
A friend also videotaped a 1987 LA record store appearance with Davy,Micky & Peter promoting "Pool It" too.
I'd be more than happy to donate my footage to ANY project!

That sounds like some awesome footage. I wish I could have been there at those events. Sounds like you've had a lot of fun as a Monkees fan. Cool.

oh yeah Bryan,

I forgot about the collectables 45 box set in the late 90's, those had some of the ML2 songs on them. That's the closest to it being released on vinyl.

Oh yeah. I remember when those came out. I didn't get a chance to buy it, though. Some of those were released seperately, also. I saw all of them on individual singles at a record shop in Atlanta, Georgia, but didn't have the moo-lah at the time. Oh well. I do have all of the Colgems singles...well, all of them except "Oh My My."
