Andrew:
Do you have any information on recordings the "3kees" did with boy band mogul Lou Pearlman in Florida? I remember reading that the guys re-worked two or three of their hits with Pearlman in early 2000. Any truth to this?
They have never been released, so I was just wondering.

Here is the response I received from Andrew. If Andrew knows no details, no one does.

Thanks for the email Jeff. I know what you are talking about, but have no details of the sessions and have never heard them

Best - andrew

My brother found some new recordings of Micky and Davy (each solo) on either ITunes or EMusic (I can't remember which.). Micky had rerecorded "Last Train To Clarksville" and "I'm A Believer." Davy did a really weird Millenium remix of "Daydream Believer." I don't know if these come from the sessions you're talking about, but the recordings do exist. I listened to them the last time I was at my brother's house.

Incidentally, the original Monkees versions of these songs are far superior.

Thanks, but no.

The Itunes versions are solo versions the guys are trying to use for licensing purposes. They are not from the "lost Pearlman sessions".

Thanks,
Jeff

Considering Lou Pearlman's current legal situation. Might the sessions he did with the Monkees be for sale at a reasonable price ?

Strangley enough they also did a photo shoot for Vanity Fair, which never did see print.

ET did do a report of this. The revised Ed. of "Total Control" said that the 2001 recordings are unreleased.

One of the guys from Natural was in the lobby at one of the 2001 Monkees/Natural shows. He told me that Natural had recorded with The Monkess, remakes of Daydream Believer and I'm A Believer (aka "Pearlman Sessions"). He said the tracks might end up on a Natural release. I don't know what became of Natural after the tour.

I forgot the name of the that band, but I'd imagine that they went the way of all boy bands and just fizzled out.
