During the three part Nez interviews Andrew plays some great quality recordings from what sounds like the 1969 tour. Of course these tapes have been rumored to exist, but never found.

Does Andrew have them now? Will we get to hear them? A digital release possibly?

Maybe it was true about what was said in the liner notes of "Listen To The Band" CD Box Set. I read in there that there was a Master of the Monkees playing live with Sam & The Goodtimers. This was going to be released after "Changes." However, it was canceled after "Changes" sold so poorly.

I think at that point, they should have been trying to get another series or something. They sure needed exposure. Too bad they didn't have the internet back then. More people would have known about their newer recordings. Interesting, huh?

Andrew told Goldmine magazine in 1996 that though he wrote that in the 1991 Boxset booklet, that was actually based on a story told to him by Micky's limo driver.

Each new liner release gets better w/ updates.

It's amazing the info you can get from limo drivers. Just like in that movie "Wayne's World."

There's a website out there that claims that there IS a tape but it was actually owned by Micky and/or the 3 Monkees that financed the recording.

Micky needs to issue that. He could license the Monkees name and issue through his own website. That would be awesome!

It'll probably be issued under Rhino Handmade if it exists. As it's not really a commerical release outside to Monkees fans.

Micky has said that the tape is of a Goodtimers show, and that he made it to help promote that group.

Meaning it's a Goodtimers live show and NOT a Monkees show w/ them?

Yes, according to what Micky said in 2005.
I asked Andrew about this in an interview in 2005 and he said there is no such tape in the Monkees tape vault. Once upon a time Brendan Cahill said there was a '69 tape made for a possible live album.
