Do you plan to do a reissue of all Monkees albums?
I'm sure many of us have heard there won't be a reissue of any albums after Present. I hope this is not true because I would like to see all of them reissued.
I would also like to hear a stereo version of 99 Pounds, which to my knowledge, is the only Monkees song that has never seen a stereo release.
It would also be great if you could finally get Micky to record the vocals for the backtrack of the song that was left off of Pool-It.
And from what I know, there are some songs from Justus that also have never seen the light of day, such as a heavymetal version of Last Train To Clarksville and another Monkees classics.
Well, keep up the good work.. we are excitied with the new releases.

A heavy metal version of "Clarksville"?! I have never heard that existed!
Another vote for going up through Justus in the reissue campaign...and a vote to make the downloads on this new Monkees site compatible with iPods, which right now they are not. Big mistake...lots of money will be lost on future download releases if this is not corrected.

Actually there have been several tracks only appearing in mono: I was hoping somekind of stereo mix would have been made for the I'll Be Back Upon My Feet version 1. Even a 2 channel vocals-on-one-side-instruments-on-the-other would have been nice. In future releases I'm hoping for stereo mixes for Tear the Top Off My Head (all versions), Lady's Baby (all versions), She Hangs Out (Single version, and make it the longer one from the Listen to the Band box), The Girl I Knew Somewhere (Mike version), Mustang (maybe use both vocal takes), Ceiling in My Room, Zor and Zam (TV version), and probably a few others I've missed. Also, it would be great if the New York King/Goffin, etc., session tapes could be synched to the vocal takes recorded in CA to make for better stereo mixes, particularly of Sometime in the Morning. Almost all of the Changes album should be remixed for better stereo, preferably by someone who doesn't hate stereo. I agree with the idea that all the vocal-less tracks (in true stereo) would be quite desirable by the die-hard fans as downloadable songs. Of course, it would be great if you could coax the guys back in to the studio to finish off all those tracks with vocals, but we can't ask for miracles!
Is there a release schedule for the remaining reissues?

Although I think Rhino has done a super job when they do remix songs (i.e., "Listen to the Band" from Listen to the Band Box set), I would prefer the original mix of Changes, which is what they've been doing (and doing a great job, too!), but I guess if they do both for a double CD, that'd be cool too! (although unlikely-ha!) Now, if they remix in 5.1 that'll be a different story... (just kidding)
I only know that Headquarters/PACJ was unfortunately delayed until the beginning of next year, which I'm sure there's good reason for.. After that, they should come quicker.

"Oh My My" is barely stereo. Through most of it there is a little percussion off to one side, that's it. Barry obviously hated stereo. Even his stereo mixes on the previous albums are all markedly different from most everyone else's contributions. Was Changes ever mixed/released in mono? If not, I guess this was his way of rebelling? Also, Magnolia Simms is an original album track that has never been released in stereo, but for obvious reasons.

To the best of my knowledge, Changes has only seen stereo release. The original Colgems only had stereo, Rhino's '86 reissue only had stereo, and the CD was in stereo. Unless another country besides the US had a mono release.. Brian Wilson (of the Beach Boys) also preferred mono, I guess partially because of his ear, and partially a "control of the sound" thing, from what I've read..
From "Head"on,in the U.S.A.,all Monkees albums were issued in stereo only, however,"Head" was issued in both Mono and Stereo outside of the U.S.A. after that, they were issued the same as the U.S.A. Michael Boyce
What is the release date for the next set of releases? Any new DVDs in production? By the way, Videoranch put out an email stating the following re: Nez and his current goings ons -
Great news for The Prison Fans! Nez went back to the original multi-tracks of The Prison, made a new digital transfer of it, and is now remixing and remastering it. I heard a little bit of it this weekend (Marie's Theme and Hear Me Calling) and it sounds AWESOME!
A quick bit of news for the United Kingdom and the rest of the EU: Edsel Records will begin re-issuing the following Nez albums in 2007: The Prison, The Garden, Timerider Soundtrack, Tropical Campfire's, From a Radio Engine to a Photon Wing, Infinite Rider on the Big Dogma, Wichita Train Whistle Sings, and Live at the Britt.
We expect them to be great re-issues, with lots of extras, and liner notes written by Nez.
Changes did have some songs mixed in mono for the TV show re-reruns, and a re-mix wouldn't hurt anything.
Amazon UK has the release date for the next set as January 30.
I hope those Nez CD re-issues have plenty of bonus tracks! He's always written some of the most enjoyable music around. His new album's good and it'll be great to hear some "new" stuff from yesteryear. The Garden's only good for listening with the book, so I think I'll skip that one, but otherwise I guess I'll be importing some CDs in '07 (and it'll give me an excuse to finally pick up the Timerider soundtrack). The Prison is a classic album (although unique)--I wish there were top quality recordings of his concert material from that era--I love how those songs sound with just Nesmith & his guitar, especially Marie's Theme.
I have a question:Will you,Andrew, be re-issuing "The Monkees Present" with the Dali-inspired inner-sleeve artwork that was inside the original CD issue without the writing all over it?(By the way,the Dali I'm talking about, for those who don't know by now, is Saladore Dali.)Michael Boyce
On another site (Monkeechat),you said that the next two re-issues were going to be released on January Or Feburary. Is that still the target dates? Michael Boyce

The Rhino LP reissue of "Changes" was mostly a disc dub.
