So...what about the Monkees veterans that have been fans for over 30 years. We've shelled out the money for all the reissues, imports, CDs and boxsets and now Rhino wants us to plop down the money again just because they re-named a tune, added studio chatter and mixed the drum tracks from the left channel to the center???

Not me, not now. I'm not Rhino's steppin' sucker anymore. A Monkees fan FOREVER, but not a Rhino fan anymore. Not until somebody can answer me why WEA/Rhino declined to release JUSTUS to the UK market during their tour there. Can you believe it was leased by some minor label?

As for rarities, didn't the HEADQUARTERS SESSIONS box tell you that Rhino had no more quality Monkees material to release????????

I've found enough in these deluxe reissues to justify buying them again. Reading the Day by Day book has me excited as to what may be in store for future releases, assuming I don't grow old and grey waiting for them...
I do hope they decide to take all the unfinished tracks and make them available somehow. If they are not considered good enough for release the usual CD way, maybe high quality mp3 downloads would be possible.

My only hope is that they won't make the fatal error and re-issue them as "Limited Editions"...That will defeat any hopes of getting any finacial gains on re-issuing them in the first place...it'll only lead them to "shoot themselves in the foot". Such a SHAME,if that's the case...WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT ON THE MONKEES BEHALF!! You're supposed to be HUGE fans,Rhino...why mess up a good relationship with them (And us,as well?) Take my advice...don't mess with the tried and true,friends... Michael Boyce

My resoonse to Randy Scouseget is if you doh't like them, don't buy them! I plan to buy a couple down the road. I have all the 95 remasters, but the deluxes look intrigueing.

The first album deluxe paid for itself with the Gonna Buy Me A Dog Nesmith produced version, the Davy sung Do Not Ask For Love, the alt version of Papa Gene's Blues, and the Demo of Propinquity.
MOTM Deluxe paid for itself with the remixed version of Mr. Webster, the alt vocals of The Kind Of Girl I Could Love, and the Alt versions of I'm A Believer and Look Out (Here Comes Tomorrow).
Headquarters has awesome stereo mixes of A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You, She Hangs Out ,All of Your Toys (remix- superior to Music Box)and 99 Pounds (wow),as well as all of the last Kirschner sessions-all in stereo.
PACJ has the alt vocals of What Am I Doing Hangin' 'Round?, and the full stereo and mono mixes from the original master tapes- superb quality sound.

So far, I haven't felt ripped off by any one of the Deluxe sets- to me worth every penny.
For those of you that are happy with the old volumes, more power to you, but don't go harping on Rhino. Without Rhino letting Andrew Sandoval and Bill Inglot loose in the Monkees' archives, there would be no Missing Links series, no bonus tracks of any album, and probably no CD releases after Head, maybe only up to PACJ.
Rhino,Andrew, and Bill:
Thanks for giving the Monkees' canon of songs such a great treatment.I only hope you keep them coming, and for every 1 of the above complainers, there are (at least ) 3 more that are glad you do what you do for the Monkees.
Respectfully,
Bob T

The alt vocals of What Am I Doing Hangin' 'Round? is worth it for me. These reissues are awesome. I can't wait to buy more! Thanks Andrew.

It's about time! We get the mono mixes too!

It's been a decade after all, and the original CDs by Rhino are getting hard to find.

I haven't bought any of the new reissues. I guess, since I have all of the CD's that came out in the early 90's, I didn't feel they were necessary. That, and the fact that I would rather wait and get some more unreleased stuff, such as Micky's and Davy's solo stuff on CD. That's what I'm saving my money for.

Buy the reissues and the new upcoming ones!

As you never know as Rhino might not do the later post TV albums.

That's true. I guess I should come off a few more bucks. Maybe they will use the money to release some more stuff that we've been waiting ages for.

I guess the problem with that is that the group isn't together like they were in 1995-1996. At least they were in the process of getting back together. I think that Rhino should release everything at once and have it available for download, instead of making more CD's. That way, we could have Micky's solo singles, Davy's Colpix album, all the mono album mixes, all the live songs, all the unreleased songs. We wouldn't have to wait.

Also, we wouldn't have to buy things we already have, either.

I dunno, arent' MP3s or downloads not as good as CD quailty? I know it's close, but we wouldn't have sleeves, liner notes , pics etc.
