Heard today that we are okay to ship and sell worldwide. Now if we can just get the sales page working for everyone, we'll be in luck!

Andrew: Any more podcasts like last years interview with Bobby Hart? Really enjoyed your show "Come to the Sunshine" with the Monkees.

For anyone following this saga, I'm delighted to say I've just managed to place my international order for the newly-styled '7" bundle'! Thanks very much Andrew and anyone else who plugged in the wires and made it possible. I'd nearly given up hope. . .

Was a decision ever made on how The Monkees live at Billboard would be released? CD or DVD? Heard mention of it awhile back.

Andrew, are you allowed to elaborate on the "different tape" you used for the new Headquarters remaster? If so, is it the first-generation stereo master, or a safety copy?

I've been watching parts of the BBC Monkees Documentary and have a couple questions for Andrew... Will there be a DVD release in the US? Was Nez asked to participate? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q58-lMcHOOA

It is unlikely that we will be releasing the recent British documentary since it was independently produced and we have no affiliation with the filmmakers other than offering them photos from our archives. Nesmith was asked to participate and declined.

We have talked about putting out the 1997 reunion special, but it is not currently scheduled.

As for the Headquarters tape we used for the new stereo remaster, with these RCA Monkees tapes they are not plainly marked Original Master or Safety. It is more obvious when you play them which sounds better. We auditioned about five different sets of masters for this release and picked the best, most detailed sounding tapes that we now have. They are undoubtedly a different set than what was used in previous reissues and box sets, etc.

That being said, Headquarters is a very mid range heavy album and is never going to sound like some Steely Dan CD.

The fact that Headquarters will NEVER sound like a Steely Dan disc is one of THE main reasons I hold it so near & dear to my heart Wink

I got an email from Rhino stating that my 7" Single has been shipped. I'm supposed to get it on the 2nd (FedEx), mailed on 6/28.

Did they ship the CDs or just the 7" out early? The email doesn't list the CDs.

I can't wait...

I have a question for Andrew:
Was the stereo mix for 99 Pounds done the same way as the new stereo mixes for A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You and All Of Your Toys- synch up of session tapes, or did you find a true stereo mix somewhere? Looking forward to the new deluxe sets!

I did synch up all the Jeff Barry produced tracks to create new stereo mixes. Since these album sessions were kind of aborted before completion, it is a lot of fun to finally hear these all in a row with nice sound. It kind of gives you a glimpse of what might have been had the group not split with Kirshner.

Thanks so much for your reply! I (and lots of us) are very envious of you, being able to hear the entire catalogue. I can hardly wait for these next sets to arrive!
