I've posted this information over at Stevehoffman.tv and Monkeetalk.com, just thought I'd post it here too:
The Pacific Arts Stuff - Coming on February 04, 2008 from Demon/Edsel: The Wichita Train Whistle Sings + Timerider (2-on-1 CD) From a Radio Engine to the Photon Wing + Infinite Rider on the Big Dogma (2-CD Set) -Nez has remastered all of these albums from the original multi-track tapes (newly-discovered in the case of "The Wichita Train"!) written sleevenotes for both releases, and has provided previously unpublished photos! -"Wichita" has been resequenced by Nez -"Infinite Rider" will contain a 6.54 version of 'Flying' -Unfortunately, Nez didn't provide any bonus material besides the longer version of 'Flying' Then sometime in the first half of 2008, Demon/Edsel will release: The Prison (NEWLY Remixed) The Garden ...tropical campfires... Live at the Britt Festival -Unfortunately, "Live at the Palais" is not part of the Demon/Edsel deal. Stay tuned to: http://www.demonmusicgroup.co.uk/content/348.chtml This message has been edited. Product Description 2008 CD two-fer featuring a pair of former Monkees member Michael Nesmith's acclaimed solo albums that have been out of print for years. The Wichita Train Whistle Sings (1967), which has been resequenced by Nesmith, was released during the height of Monkeemania and features instrumental arrangements of Nesmith's compositions (both Monkees and future solo tracks). Timerider is the soundtrack to the 1983 film executive produced and co-written by Nesmith. He also composed the film's score. Edsel. http://www.amazon.com/Wichita-Train-Whistle-Sings-Timer...id=1197713986&sr=8-6 Product Description 2008 two CD set featuring a pair of former Monkees member Michael Nesmith's acclaimed solo albums that have been out of print for years. From A Radio Engine To A Photon Wing (1977), which features the hit 'Rio', sees Nesmith moving away from the Country/Folk sound of his early solo material and embracing a more commercial and contemporary Pop sound. Infinite Rider On The Big Dogma (1979) was the outstanding follow-up and features classics like 'Flying', 'Magic' and more. Many of the songs off of these albums were featured in Nesmith's groundbreaking Elephant Parts full-length video release. Please email: vrforeman@videoranch.com
And request that Nez include some bonus tracks on these new reissues. They will forward your email on to Nez. The more we ask the more likely he will reconsider... |

Is that the front cover art? That's pretty cool looking. However, it seems like Nez has the "George Lucas Syndrome" of wanting to go back and redo his material. I always liked "The Wichita Train Whistle Sings." It's one of my favorite albums. I guess I'm just not sure about him redoing it. But I'm sure it will sound good. I mean, he is a pro.

That's great, as those last two albums have not been reissued yet. Plus we'll get new versions of the other later albums.
I wonder what mix of the Prison we'll get? As the LP and CD both sound different. |

Both have been reissued on CD already. In fact, I have all of Nesmith's post Monkees solo albums on CD. Yes, they're official releases. Go to http://www.videoranch.com and look around. |

I was referring to Infinite Rider and From a....
The other first six were eariler this decade of course on those 2 on 1 BMG imports. |

I have CD reissues of "Infinite Rider On The Big Dogma" and "From A Radio Engine To The Photon Wing." They came out on Rio Records in 1995, which was owned by Pacific Arts. This was right before Mike's big lawsuit with PBS.

I have those two as well, actually I think they were issued in 94 by Rio Records as Pacific folded the year before.
But now BOTH have been remastered to match the other reissues. |

Cool. Are the songs "Rollin" and "Walkin' In The Sand" on there?
|

Actually there are no bonus tracks on any of the new Nez reissues.

I really wish Nez would issue some more of his unreleased stuff from his recording sessions. Preferrably, some more stuff from the First National Band albums.
