I got a call from Dr. Rhino today and he said that these albums are NOT on the production calendar (so far) for 2008.

This doesn't look good for their release. This will leave us with 5 "original era" Monkees albums without a Deluxe Edition.

Too bad...

BTW...i'm new here...been lurking for a long time.

Nice to meet all of you.

fading thru the door into summer...

That sucks, I hope that's not the case. But @ least we still have the old pressings and the Arista ones too.

That also means that the other release possibilities are out also. What a shame.

It could be beyond Andrew's control and a decision made by the mighty Rhinos.

But Drew didn't say it was definitive, I believe he said that he'll try to get a release for Head. And he dropped the egg @ the Nez podcost.

Maybe the sales on the dlx reissues weren't good enough, so those of you who didn't buy one...do it ASAP!

I don't think that it means NO releases this year. It just means that they haven't been scheduled for production yet. If and when they do get announced officially it will only take a few weeks to press up and produce.

It's May. Everyone relax. Let's not demand answers so that we can be the first to run off to our favorite forum and be the first to announce it.

yeah, there's still another good 7 months left this year! Perhaps later this year or early next year we'll see something.

Or...maybe Rhino will release more (all of them?!) next year instead?

For those of you that havn't bought any of the dlx ed yet...do it! Each sale counts and maybe Rhino will get cracking if they decided to cancel the rest of the catalog.

Michael,
I know you frequent Steve Hoffman, and Andrew stated in another non-monkees thread that he cannot comment on this issue. I am as anxious to hear news on this as well, but he is not permitted by the brass at Rhino to discuss this.
I'm sure he would like to tell you, and the rest of us, whatever news he has, but you don't want him to lose his position with Rhino, do you?
We will just have to wait, and if they don't come out, at least we got the first 4 as Deluxe, and the rest on CD Smiler

It seems as though there will be no new Monkees releases in 2008, but perhaps many in 2009. Whenever I know something for sure, I will post it here first!
