Nez has no interest in touring either. Leaves you with Micky and Peter.

I guess I was inspired by the interview Andrew had with Mike Nesmith. Around a minute into part three of the Rhino podcast Mike talks about what he calls The Monkees true sound : Micky's drums Peter on bass and Mikes 12-string. As real as the band ever got. Sounds good to me. I haven't seen Nez yet. So, sorry for the Writing wrongs. Nez fan here.

So Davy was a brit and doens't count? Well yeah, they were a trio live, but Davy has learned to play a instrument since the 70's and still does.

I'd like to see one more reunion before they're all gone. I mean, they're not getting any younger. I still want a Monkees concert with all 4 guys! They don't need to tour, they just need to get together and perform (just the 4 of them) the ultimate Monkees Concert of all time! They should film it and release it in theaters or DVD or both! Or, perhaps, a TV special! Can't they do it one more time? (Oh, and can Mike wear "the hat"?)

Very little chance of any kind of reunion. Probably the most we can hope for is the release of those 1997 UK concerts filmed by Gary Strobl. We should get a petition going and send it to Davy Jones. I think he owns the recordings to those shows.

Yeah one more one-off show before that Last Train is gone for good.


Next year marks the 45th anniversary, I wonder if Rhino will do anything? Perhaps all the reissues will be done by then.



But yeah, the 97 concerts were recorded professionaly I believe. Footage has turned up on the VH1 Behind the music and E! True Hollywood Story show.

Oh yeah! The '97 concerts! That should have been released on DVD, instead of the 2001 concert. Granted, the '01 show was good, but only had 3 Monkees. I'd like to see that footage from '97 on DVD. I would have went, but I had no idea that the show would *not* come to the US. Anyway, we need to get a petition together for that and for the tv special from 1997. I'll sign up for it!
