I have the Live album by DJBH that came out on Varese. Great sound.

That's interesting that Sony owns the Bell album. How did that happen? I thought Bell became arista?
It'd probably be cheap to licence the stuff, what are the odds of Sony reissuing the albuM? |

I know. That's so weird. If Colpix became Colgems; then Colgems became Bell; then Bell became Arista; then you would think that the Colpix album and the Bell album would be owned by the same company. That's weird. I think that Rhino Handmade could license and release a 3 disc set of Davy Jones which would include:
Disc 1: David Jones (Colpix album) Disc 2: Davy Jones (Bell album) Disc 3: MGM singles and other b-sides, etc. Plus, I think Davy would be game to give interviews for liner notes, etc. It would be a really cool set. |

Davy would probably try to stop it! As I heard he hated some of the solo stuff and he might not get anything for it!

Davy should be happy that people still want to hear him sing. How many other 60 year olds have people going crazy over their records? I mean, besides Paul McCartney.

I don't care too much for Macca's last couple of solo albums. Ringo (like Tork) actually improved!
Red Rose Speedway is my fav Wings album and it's very unrated and better than Band On The RunIMHO. I'd take that w/ me to a dessert island. Along w/ the Listen To The Band Box Set! |

I liked Chaos & Creation In The Backyard. It was pretty good, to me. It was much better than Driving Rain. I haven't heard Memory Almost Full, yet. Well, not the entire album. From what I've heard of it, I wasn't impressed. It was nowhere near the quality of Chaos...

I don't know why Macca didn't name Choas "Mccartny III"? But I like "fine line", actually I picked up his DVD box set, also by Rhino.

I heard the Two-Fer Of "The Wichita Train Whistle Sings/Timerider" and it sounds AWESOME!! The Instrumentals sound much fuller, and the percussion really gets,in the words of Emeril Lagasse,"Kicked Up A Notch"! It sounds great....If I were you,I'd rush to the Demon/Edsel Website and snag a copy of it!

I agree that "Chaos" should have been titled "McCartney III". In fact, my brother and I had that conversation back when the album was first released. We both agreed that it *is* McCartney III, even if it doesn't bear the name.
I never thought that Nez would give "Wichita" a new remix for the new millenium. Weird, huh? Of course, I gotta hear it. I know it must be awesome. If we could only get him to finish and release "The Magic Ball." |

I actually have a goldmine issue where Nez talked about remixing Witcha and the later albums, this was back in 1991!

Cool. I never knew about that. He seemed so recluctant to release it on CD there for a while. Maybe it was because he was unhappy with the original mix? Who knows? I'm just glad I have my CD of it. I also have the original LP on Dot records. I got it at a record show in Huntsville, Alabama way back in 1992. In fact, I got the Monkee Business picture disc at the same time I got my Wichita LP. That was when I really started getting into collecting everything on LP. Before that, all I had was cassettes of the Monkees.

Nez was unhappy w/ the Witcha album as a whole.
He did reissue it in 1978 for the Pacific arts label and that was about it until 2001. The tapes were missing and it was remastered off of the 1st pressing LP. He was suppose to release Live @ The Palias too in 1991 on CD but pulled it @ the last minute. He later sold cassettes of it on his website (still sealed) for like $30 I think. Or some crazy fee. It sold out of course. |

I am glad that he did finally decide to reissue "Wichita" and "Palais" on CD a few years ago. I like the bonus tracks he put on "Palais." Excellent stuff. I don't know why he hasn't issued more live albums.

Well there was Live @ the Britt, but he did say that he had more tapes in the same interview.
