Hey,Andrew...I have a question that's been bugging me for quite some time....Since Rhino's gotten the rights to reissue all of the Colpix stuff, why hasn't there been any talk of reissuing the 1965 "David Jones" lp? Can you tell me if it's going to come out,or will it the "Lost Lp" that we monkee fans all feared it would be? Just thought I'd ask..THANX!! Michael Boyce

I read somewhere the master tapes are completely lost on that album...so they'd have to make it from an LP.

Personally, I'd rather get the 1971 Bell Davy Jones album on CD-or here's an idea: Rhino Homemade could issue both in a set (Andrew, pretty please?)! Include non-lp tracks, etc.

It's more likely that we will do the Colpix album as a Handmade. The Bell album is now owned by Sony/BMG - not us.

So,maybe there is still hope for this Lp to be reissued...albeit on a Rhino Handmade CD! Any clues if the Mastertapes Have been finally unearthed? Or,will there be a "Needledrop" of this Lp(if and when this Lp is issued,if at all)? Michael Boyce

Have the original David Jones lp on Colpix on vinyl..would like to see a CD reissue of it.a Rhino Handmade release is logical. Are there any unreleased songs from that period of Davy's career in the vault ??

Also have the Bell "Davy Jones" lp...although Sony owns it,can Rhino license it ? Sadly Sony/BMG haven't started up their own version of "Handmade' yet.

I would love to have Rhino Handmade CD's of Davy's solo stuff. Maybe Rhino could license the stuff from Sony. Also, what about the singles that came out on MGM and Warner Brothers? That would be cool.

Another good Rhino Handmade CD would be Davy Jones "Incredible."

There were many pre-Monkees songs that Davy did, a lot of which appear on his For the Record series in low quality.
The Colpix album was released on a Japanese CD a while back in mono. Needledrop?

It looks like Davy finally reissued "Incredible." I can't wait to get it. That was an awesome album.

That Japanese CD was "Monkey Solo Recording" and according to the Monkees.net site, it was remastered from vinyl sources , I think it saids that too on the CD, but they used sonic no noise solutions. And it sounds pretty clean.

It does have an excellent sound. Recording from vinyl is not bad, though. The "Dolenz, Jones, Boyce & Hart" reissue CD is from a vinyl source. And it sounds good. The "Wichita Train Whistle Sings" reissue is also from a vinyl source. Again, good sound. And both of those are official releases.

Really? I've never heard of it. The one I have is an import from England. I can't remember the label.

Are you talking about the one w/ them on the ballons? Awful packaging too!

There was also the TNG bootleg in the 90's w/ Tails Of..tracks tacked in as bonus material.

Yes. The one with the weird balloon cover. I don't understand why they didn't use the original cover art. It's much nicer. And ORIGINAL!

The company that put out the B & H tribute comp and DJBH live album-Varse records-should have done it since they did the live album and one of the DJBH songs on the "words & music" B & H CD.

The westwood import/boot had silk cover and was a reproduction of the original LP cover. It pops up on ebay from time to time.
